10B38 Steel is a boron-treated medium-carbon steel alloy, designated by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). Because this particular grade of steel has been treated with Boron, it has an increased hardenability – the depth to which it has been hardened following heat treatment. 10B38 Alloy Steel typically contains anywhere between 0.0005% to 0.003% Boron. This allows for consistent hardness, ductility, and less risk of fracture due to impact.
